Biographical or historical data Ian Castro was Professor of Fluid Dynamics and Founder-Director of the Environmental Flow Research Centre at the University of Surrey. Since 2000 he has been at the University of Southampton, where he is now Emeritus Professor of Fluid Dynamics. Christina Vanderwel is Associate Professor at the University of Southampton. She is a previous holder of a Marie Curie Fellowship and a current holder of a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship.
